Bare Minerals
Added me to their PR List!
I literally can’t believe I’m writing that, but it’s true! So here’s a low down of my first package from them and the different products they kindly gifted me.
Instagram has been such a crazy place lately, especially over the last six months! On one hand, I had a sudden surge in my followers, going from around 7,000 to over 20,000 and climbing (slowly!). But, irrespective of all the metrics and statistics, it has provided me with a platform to meet new people, keep up to date with new brand releases and gain new opportunities. It still never fails to amaze me each time I look at my inbox and see emails from brand PR teams taking time to reach out and let me know they like my work and would like to collaborate with me. I can only try and describe the shock and delight I felt when I noticed I’d received an email, subject line: ‘Hello from BARE MINERALS’!
Admittedly, Bare Minerals is a brand I’ve not tried any products from before, but I’ve heard extremely positive things about for YEARS! I was particularly intrigued after noticing on social media that they’d launched a new skincare line that was receiving a lot of praise in the beauty community. A brand renown for pioneering the ‘clean beauty’ movement since their launch in 1995, the brand has produced an array of clean, natural mineral makeup and skincare products. They pride themselves on formulating beauty products only made with what’s needed, with every product 100% free of parabens, phthalates, formaldehyde, chemical sunscreens, triclosan, triclocarban, propylene glycol, mineral oil, coal tar and microbeads, and most importantly, cruelty free. With the current eco-conscious climate, and more and more emphasis being given to brands focusing on clean beauty and environmentally conscious mission statements, brands such as Bare Minerals are leading the way in this area.
Everything Bare Minerals kindly gifted me! ♥ |
I was kindly sent a mixture of skincare and makeup products allowing me to trial a variety of cult favourites and new releases! Skincare has become extremely important to me during lockdown so any opportunity to trial new products that may revolutionise my current skincare routine are welcomed! With the change in the weather and the UK quickly heading towards Winter, new skincare excites me more than anything else at the moment!!
OIL OBSESSED™ Total Cleansing Oil (180ml)
Described as an ultra-lightweight facial cleansing oil, OIL OBSESSED™ Total Cleansing Oil provides the ultimate cleansing experience. Extremely gentle, the oil can be applied straight on to dry skin and gently massaged to remove makeup and impurities, while adding a little water transforms the oil into a milky emulsion that easily rinses away leaving your skin cleansed and silky smooth. This was my first experience with an oil based cleanser and I was pleasantly surprised! Lately I’ve been experiencing dryness, sensitivity and redness on my skin so I’ve been more cautious with trialling new products. Thankfully though, this cleanser performed exactly as described, gently nourishing my skin whilst removing any lingering contaminants. My skin felt softer but not dry or overly greasy, makeup (foundation, mascara and brows) was removed with ease and my skin prepped and ready for toner!
The cleanser can to be used daily as the first step in your skincare routine, AM or PM. It does have quite a strong scent of Lavender and Tangerine (both naturally derived) but this didn’t bother me, I actually really enjoyed the fragrance and found it relaxing! The formula also contains mineral-rich sea salts, Sunflower Oil, Borage, Cucumber and Bilberry Oils. Apply one-two pumps to dry skin and gently massage for 20-30 seconds before adding a few drops of water, massaging for a further 20 seconds and gently rinsing with warm water. One thing I will say though, be careful with how you store this product! After knocking this over, I noticed the bottle leaks! Love the product but the packaging could be improved!

SKINLONGEVITY LONG LIFE NIGHT TREATMENT (50g)
Over the last six months during this global pandemic, I’ve finally had time to really study and trial new skincare products. One of the areas I’d never properly ventured was ‘masking’. I’ve tried a few ‘drugstore’ masks but this was one of the first more ‘boujee’ masks I’ve tried. Let me just say, the packaging is stunning, the jar is a luxe thick frosted glass with a matte rose gold plastic lid. The product smells beautiful as soon as you open the jar, and the formula is thick but not dense, consistent with an extremely hydrating gel moisturising cream that melts into the skin. But let’s get further into the product details!
Designed to reduce visible signs of ageing and reduce the appearance of fine lines/wrinkles, improve radiance, texture and tone, the treatment is clinically shown to strengthen your skin’s barrier against various free radicals, environmental pollutants and stress. The SKINLONGEVITY line includes the ‘Long Life Herb’, which has been used for centuries as part of the local diet in Okinawa, Japan (where they have one of the highest average lifespans in the world, 83.7 years!) and has a vitamin and mineral content as high as kale or spinach! This night treatment is Vegan, cruelty free and clean, free of PEG’s, SLS, parabens, synthetic fragrance and gluten. To be used as the final step in your evening skin care routine, gently smooth the gel moisturiser into your skin on your face and neck.
I’ve really enjoyed this product, I’m actually using it a couple of nights a week, alternating with my Glow Recipe Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Mask. I can’t comment on noticeable reductions of fine lines yet, but I wake up to find my skin bouncy, supple and glowy! I’m also obsessed with how it smells, literally having this open whilst taking photos was heaven! If you’re not keen on fragranced products though this range might not be for you!

ORIGINAL FOUNDATION SPF 15
Award-Winning Mineral Foundation (8g) & Beautiful Finish Brush
Okay so I don’t think this foundation needs an introduction but for those of you like me that have been hiding under a rock and haven’t actually tried this yet, let me give you the low down! According to their website, one jar of the loose powder mineral foundation is sold every 18 seconds and has won countless awards in both the US and UK!!
A lightweight loose powder foundation, consisting of just FIVE ingredients (Bismuth Oxychloride, Zinc Oxide, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides and Mica) this formula allows you to build your own coverage and has a natural luminous finish. Sheer-to full coverage, it’s minimalistic composition provides a ‘no makeup’ look and feel that millions of beauty addicts globally adore. A foundation perfect for those with sensitive skin, the addition of (chemical sunscreen-free) SPF 15 to the Vegan, Gluten Free, Talc Free, synthetic fragrance free, SLS free, formaldehyde free formula contribute to it’s ‘Cult Favourite’ status.
I’ve not had the opportunity to use this on a regular basis yet, but my first impressions are that this is truly an amazing product. I get the hype! It felt so soft on the skin, easy to apply and build to my preferred coverage depending on my skin that day, and it really did have a beautiful natural finish! I’ll definitely continue using this, and think it will be particularly effective to wear whilst in the office under the air con! The brush is not necessary but also incredible, it just pairs perfectly with the foundation and is such a unique design!

BARESKIN® COMPLETE COVERAGE SERUM CONCEALER (6ml)
I’m always on the hunt for new high quality, brightening, full coverage concealers so I was eager to try this! A ‘complete’ coverage, silky smooth two in one serum concealer, this concealer should cover imperfections, dark circles and discolouration whilst providing a balanced, evenly toned complexion. Hydrating humectants help nourish the under eye area, whilst mineral-coated optical pigments help brighten the under eye. Non-comedogenic (won’t cause breakouts!), paraben free, dermatologist tested and cruelty free, this formula is a prime example of ‘clean beauty’ at it’s best.
The concealer is creamy, pigmented, flattering on the under eye area and easy to blend into your complexion products underneath! Is it as full coverage as my beloved Tarte Shape Tape? Sadly not. But, I will say this is a beautiful natural concealer that does leave your under eye feeling nourished, even after being set with pressed or loose powder. I didn’t notice too much creasing once set either!

BAREPRO® 16-HR FULL COVERAGE CONCEALER
Long lasting concealer stick (2.5g)
A soft matte finish, full coverage waterproof concealer, the BAREPRO® concealer stick claims to last for 16 hours, providing full coverage to your under eye area. Creamy, ‘crease-proof, smudge proof’ and an easy ‘glide on’ formulation – I was really impressed with this concealer! I don’t actually own a concealer stick, I think I owned one from AVON about ten years ago before I moved on to the Rimmel ‘dream matte mousse foundation’ (anyone else remember this!?) but this has really given me an alternative choice to the familiar liquid concealers. I’d love to try the lightest and deepest shade to contour and highlight and really test how easy it is to blend as I imagine it would make for a great contour stick!!
The formula contains bamboo stem extract (smooth pores and fine lines), raspberry seed oil (powerful anti-oxidant), blackcurrant seed oil and sea lavender to nourish and hydrate whilst providing protection against pollution and environmental stressors.
Shade: Fair/Light – Neutral 03

MINERALIST HYDRA SMOOTHING LIPSTICK (3.6g)
Okay – so I’m a lipstick addict, and a Nude lipstick lover especially. I was kindly gifted two shades of the Mineralist Hydra Smoothing Lipstick, ‘Balance’ – the lightest warm toned brown neutral shade pictured on the left, and ‘Grace’ – the third lightest shade, a soft rose pink pictured on the right.
Described as clean, mineral infused moisturising lipsticks containing minimal ingredients (40% less than top selling brands – just 19 ingredients!), they’re formulated with 76% naturally derived extracts which include sustainably sourced botanicals from around the world and are Vegan. The lipsticks are free of Parabens, Phthalates, Synthetic Fragrance, PEGs and Mineral Oils, but do contain Mediterranean Olive Oil, European Sea Buckthorn Fruit Oil and Moroccan Pomegranate Extract for additional hydration and nourishment, and claim to significantly reduce dryness and fine lines.
Each shade in this range is inspired by the beautiful colour palette of natural minerals, gemstones and crystals, and are infused with a subtle scent of Prickly Pear and Açaí. The texture is creamy, smooth, easy to apply and the formula gives you an outstanding colour pay off in just one swipe. The finish falls between a soft matte and satin finish! Whilst I can’t say I noticed any ground breaking changes to the texture of my lips as a result of wearing these lipsticks, they didn’t dry or flake throughout the day! If you’re looking for a clean/vegan lipstick with immense colour pay off, these are definitely worth purchasing! The packaging exterior is a stunning soft matte gold, and the lipsticks feel weighted and luxurious, definitely worthy of their £20 price point in my opinion!
Price: £20 each
Summary
As with any of my other posts concerning gifted products, I always like to add a disclaimer to state that whilst I did receive these products from the brand, I’m under no obligation to produce this post. Instead I’ve simply photographed and reviewed these product for you to let you know my thoughts in case you’re in the market!
First impressions are I’m really really impressed with all of these products, but in particular the cleansing oil, Skin Longevity Night treatment and mineral loose powder foundation were the show stealers for me, just because they were all ‘firsts’ for me! Yes – while I don’t have direct comparisons to other brands and all I can give you is my honest initial opinion, I loved them and am using them as part of my current makeup / skincare routines. I’m not Vegan, and whilst I like to think I’m environmentally conscious and do what I can, I know there’s always more I could be doing. If helping raise awareness of clean beauty brands and highlighting products that are vegan friendly is my part in helping, I’m here for it. As part of my skincare journey, I’m also learning the importance of beneficial ingredients in beauty products and what we put onto our skin! Have you tried anything from Bare Minerals? Is there anything you’d recommend? Let me know in the comments below!
Thanks for reading guys!
